Free Online Dating at Confonder.com

Online Dating Service Site Guide

April 4th, 2009

There are a lot of sites online about dating! They are al mainly separated into 2 main categories. There are a bunch that claim to be free and are not free. Then there are a very select few that actually are free; Confonder.com is one of them. So, since Confonder is a free online dating site, let’s start out listing the free online dating sites out there.

Free Online Dating Sites

1. Confonder.com

We hate to sound biased here, but Confonder is the best free online dating site. Our tests are proven to match you to your best possible match. We don’t ask you a million questions, just a few. We don’t assume you will like a certain type of person, we let you decide who you like and we find more like them. We keep a very simple site design because we know your time is valuable. We don’t distort our members pictures so that we can earn a few extra cents getting you to visit more page and see more ads. We do have more relevant features than any other dating site that will help you find your best possible match. Use our groups tool, write testimonials, submit hot or not ratins, email members, and we guarantee you will find a great match and will help build the best online dating site there is.

2. OkCupid.com.

OkCupid simply put is a failure because it has too many men. The male to female ratio is about 8:1. The problem with this is that the men are constantly sending millions of emails to the very limited amount of girls on the site. Since these girls are being bombarded with emails, they respond to only a few of the most attractive emails. The few emails they respond to are to men well above their league. Thus those men never reply back. Since the regular guys usually leave after they send a bunch of unresponded emails, the result is that nobody ends up meeting anyone on this site.

OkCupid is a horrible site for everyone because it is so complicated to use and even when you are using it correctly, it works mediocre at best. You have to answer about a thousand questions for yourself to start appearing at the top of other people’s matching search. Even then, the way it matches people is incorrect. It will tell you someone matches you 95%, when in actuality, they are nothing like you and people that it will tell you match you 10%, may actually match you much more, but you will never know that because it lists them at the bottom of all your matches.

The other thing about this site is that many of the users are not on the site to meet people. They are there to take all of their qwerky free online tests. That is another large crop of people you will be tryint to message, but will never hear back from because they are only there for the free tests.

3. PlentyOfFish.com

Another horrible free online dating site. Ever wonder why all the pictures are horribly sized? It’s because your boy Markus (that’s right, with a “k”) likes people to click on everyone’s picture so he can get more page impressions and in turn more money. That’s right. So they can make more money. Well, what about you, the user? Well, you are stuck viewing hundreds of profiles to see what the people actually look like from their distorted thumbnails so Markus can make a few extra cents off you.

Pof isn’t even free! It allows members to pay to impress. If you pay them, like many members do, your profile will be highlighted. Since, if you don’t pay this fee, you are much less likely to be contacted, that would make Pof a horrible pay site. Another failure in the online dating world.

But what about the chemistry test? The test itself looks decent. Too bad they don’t know how to use it. Once you take the test you are given pages of information about your psychology. Thanks Doc, but I’m not here for a psyche evaluation! So, what does Pof do with my info? The answer is: not a whole lot! They don’t even rank your results in ascending order by percent. You have to sort through their miserable list of data that may be a good indication of whether the person is a good match for you. After doing this awhile, you may have noticed it’s easier to not use their chemistry feature.

What is good about plenty of fish? Not much. Maybe it’s the fact that they have “plenty of fish”… That is, plenty of members about as useful to you as a dead fish.

Paid Dating Sites

1. Match.com

I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about match.com, eh? I’m sure you even suppose, since it’s called match, they do a good job of matching you, eh? Well, wrong again! Match does another horrible job of matching people. If you enjoy visiting everyone of their millions of member’s pages and seeing which features they have match yours then this site is for you. If you would prefer we do all the work for you and use other investigative data to find your best possible match, you may want to stick with Confonder.

3. Chemistry.com

Feel like waiting around a few months to see if they can find you another 400lbs unemployed man/woman that they think will be a great match for you? Me neither.

3. eHarmony.com

Garbage.

4. True.com

First rate, spam your email, garbage. A True joke.

5. Singlesnet.com

First of all, the name sucks. This isn’t 1998 anymore and sadly enough, this site was created only a couple years ago which is becomes very apparent when you see how little work has gone into the site. Singlesnet presents itself as a completely free site, but once you signup you realize that you can’t actually do anything unless you pay them just like all the other pay sites. Apart from that, singlesnet has hardly any features. In fact they have so few features that there is nothing left for me to talk about here.
